A Chat with Dr Deepak Rosha whose stories have the flavor of India with its relatable characters

article image placeholderUploaded by @mira.gopal
As I always have complained that Indian authors cannot dabble in gray like the western authors do. We are always seeing things in black and white except maybe our mythology Ramana and Mahmartha. So Mr. Rosha's books were like a breath of fresh air for me. All the five novels Raja of Nowhere, Nowhere, the Poland, the Droplet college conventions, et cetera. We will come to that later. But I'm extremely happy to see that. I would like to call him Jeffrey Archer of India

And so I'm very thankful to you for having analyzed my book so well and given a perspective which I had not really, really looked at because my main interest is to write the book and create an interest in the person who is reading the book in some way or the other

For example, if you go and read Ramayana, the way I interpret Ramayana or the way I interpret Mahabhara may not be the way someone else interpret it. So that is how the books are. And I feel an author's success is when your characters allow people to interpret and take messages as much the way they want to see it. That's a big success. And I feel you have succeeded in that. It depends on the reader how they want to take your book

So these are the things that I think make a book more interesting because they show that this person is aware of what is going on around him. The author is aware of what is going on around him and is reflecting that in the characters who he is writing about

@deerosh

Does the historical event make you weave a story around that or you have some characters in mind and you keep them in the historical event? For example, for me it's the events that inspire me to write the stories. All the three books I have written, I have written based on the events. I have fixed my characters into the events. So how it is about you, is it?

But if this prince, he has got everything going for him and yet he loses a war and why does he lose the war and what happens? This is not given in history, actually, but it's my thoughts about it, like how it could have happened

It's a very beautiful book that had sent me researching about George Mallory for I would say, like, two, three months on what exactly happened to him. So, yeah, that book is a beautiful one. Now, coming to the last question of this interview, since your book has an Indian flavor india. India. India. India. India. Its relatable characters read books. We find that the touch is missing in many of the writing

Namaste, sir. This is Prabha here. And I actually listened to Ma'am, the beautiful introduction that she gave on you. We are blessed to actually listen to her swell. And your reply so beautifully explained. So I just have a small question for you. According to you, as a doctor and as a writer, you are so experienced. You have seen people daily and you have been seeing people daily who relate you to the Almighty. Normally, God cannot be present everywhere

@deepakrosha Sir as you said that " we should relate with the characters and make them real" I have a question #swellcast #collegevoiceindia.

As you said that we should relate with the characters and bring them into reality so that readers could relate to them. So I would like to know that if narrating these stories and all those things, how should we relate to those characters so that everyone out there reading the story will relate to the character as well. So how as do we should portray a particular fiction character so that everyone else reading our book out there also really h to our character

So there are different types of people that you can talk about in your books and you can bring out these personalities like facets of people the way you actually have seen them and you can add those quirks of the people that you have seen into the characters that you are writing about just to make them more interesting
@deerosh

And I think that, like I mentioned in the interview, if you write books which are honest, what you see as honesty, and if you see that you're writing with a perspective where everything is kind of connected, like it's not disconnected with each other. The events that are occurring in the books ultimately, even though initially they may seem disconnected, but in the end, they all tie up

@vaanisinghal

So he goes into the villages and he looks after people and he talks to them and he sees their problems. And that way, the wounds that he has from his having left the person he loves, he finds that they heal and then he can relate to another person. I mean, this is what would normally happen in life. Nothing so dramatic as to just start drinking and become an alcoholic and destroy yourself just because you had to leave a person. Because that does happen

They are all available in Amazon. You just need to search with Mr. Deepak Rosha. And if you ask me, the Poland, the Droplet and Raja of Nowhere are my personal favorites. But the other books are also equally great. So thank you, listeners, for being in this well cast with me. And next week, I'll be back with another guest on my swell cast. Till then, this is Mira signing off

Hello sir, this is Khan here and I'm very glad to know about you and hope you are really doing very well and good. And as of the introduction by one of your fan Adat, you are a very good writer and as well as a very good doctor and you have a very good experience in both the fields. And I have a big curious question with of curiosity that how could you manage the bothra things? As of a doctor we have a very hectic schedule writer

And it was a big relief to me, I can tell you, because all these books, all these thoughts, all these ideas, they used to keep coming to me and bothering me. They were in my mind, and they wanted to get out, and they wanted me to put them on paper and I just was not getting the time. But then in this last period, I did manage to get the time and now again, the workload has increased

Wow. Sir, that was great listening, your experience, how you just managed both the truth and how in disguise and boom, you got it, the great opportunity to write the book and as if you said, as of your thoughts were just fighting in your brain to come out on the paper and just to shout it aloud. So it's great listening, that. And I'm definitely going to read your books and give you a very good feedback

Ah, thank you so much, sir. This was really indeed a marvelous blessing. You know, being very good and being very interactive is really very hard to see these days. But I'm really satisfied the way you answered my question. And yes, whatever you told really relates to my writing and I feel that, yes, that would be the justice, like you said, that continue the story whatsoever. And then at last you'll find everything gelling into synchronizing with each other

Hello sir. First of all, many many congratulations for the books and achievements you have made till date. And after hearing all the swells I am so amazed to know about you that you are a doctor and a writer too. Because it's a deadly combination. Normally a writer is full of person whereas a doctor cannot be emotional even if they want to. So I found this very amazing. And I think we have a lot to learn from you and your experiences

@arukshitadeswal

So I'm not sure which age you are keen to read about, but I think each one of them is a different story, each one of them is a mystery, they can't be compared and each one has different aspects that are to me, very likable. So I would recommend that you can read all of them one by one. They're all on Amazon, on and happy reading and I hope you'll give me a good feedback. Goodbye and all the best

So artificial intelligence, yes, it has a role, and it'll probably get better and better over a period of time, but its current status, it cannot really replace. The authors, though. I found that when you use it for making book covers or just doing a bit of simple work, it's able to do it quite well. But when you are writing something with complex and then there are many possibilities in your mind on how you're going to turn this story

And yes, you are right that we write for our pleasure and it gives us a lot of mental satisfaction to have put down our thoughts. And of course it's a side effect, but not necessary that when people read you, they appreciate what you've written. Whether they like it or not is also, like you said, not in our hands. But it's always nice if somebody comes and tells you I read your book and I liked it. So that is always a nice thing

Hello. Hi Mooney. Thank you for your views on the interview with Answell. And thank you for all the thoughts that you have shared with me. I appreciate them and I wish you all the best. You are right. The doctor always has to keep his emotions in check and not get emotionally involved with his patients. Because if you do, then it will be destroy yourself. So you have to keep yourself a little away
