Interview with Dr Ruby Gupta gold medallist in English Literature and an award winning author
Hello, everyone. This is meera, Gopalakrishnan. And today I am very happy because I have an accomplished author with me on my swell cast. And she is none other than Dr. Ruby Gupta, who has won a gold medal in English ladies creature and has awards also to her credit as an author. She has nine published works and her latest book, the living pagoda, is going to be adapted into a movie

Am I audible? Thank you Mira, for inviting me. I am so happy to be here. And this is my first time on swell cast. And hello to the audience, whoever is listening in now regarding my journey and as a writer, it was a convoluted journey. I never really thought of being a writer because I started off as a student of science and I was really interested in zoology and intending to go in for genetic engineering. But somehow I got sidetracked and came into English literature
And of course, the investigative journalist who has created a beautiful character, dr. Shantanu boss and the gold medalist of English literature who has marveled in writing the language in the book in such a language that you just can't keep it down. So that is lifting pagoda. And as a reader, I was very, very much impressed reading it. So now it's known that that book of yours, the Levin Pagoda, is going to be adapted into a mole

And so this novel is actually a cautionary tale that we must take care of divisive tendencies and must ensure that all the fringe elements of our society, the people who are marginalized, do not continue to be marginalized. They should be brought into the mainstream. And also we must be aware of the COVID threats that our country faces. So these are my thoughts on the novel and therefore I think it will be really great if it is adapted to screen

Mira, if I may just add, I also think that Amir Khan would be a very good fit in playing Professor Chandrago's because he is at the right age and he would give the right element of seriousness that the particular character demands. So, yeah, that's another thought. Thank you
The Hunter Tale is inspired from reallife incidents and if we want our country to progress, we have to think ourselves as Indians before any other divisive agenda that arises in our mind. Only then we can keep our flag flying high. So now proceeding with interview, coming to your next question, see, apart from writing fiction, you have written books in technical communication and if you ask me, these two segments are pulled apart writing fiction and writing technical communication

And the thing is that when I got into academics, I was teaching technical students, I was teaching MBA students, BTech students. And I realized that they needed some kind of book which would in very brief and in a very to the point manner, give them the contents related to technical communication. And that was the motivation for me to write because I just wanted to make the lives of my students easier
They themselves analyze, they themselves understand and then present it to us so that we can easily grasp. So finally, it all boils down to analytical mind. And yes, I do agree, like to write a conspiracy theory and to write content after reading, say, seven, eight books both, you need a good analytical mind that can crunch the data and present it in the right manner. Now, only I listen to your other answer that Amir Khan will be a good choice for Dr. Shantanu boss

Yeah, Mira. So about my other works, the thing is that the first book that I published was a collection of short stories. And because I began with writing short stories and articles for newspapers, I was working with three newspapers. Then after that I wrote my first novel. And the title of my first novel is Maya. And Maya is all about spirituality
Wow. Interesting. At least you definitely want make me as a reader want to check out the Chandanius series as I am a fan of thrillers, as time permits, definitely I will check them out and my audience listening. I also recommend to you that you check out her works. They are researched and after reading one of her works, I feel that I can to some extent definitely guarantee her other books will also make you equally a fan of her writing

Now, one mistake which people do is they write for the market. Certainly some people are successful when they write for the market. But I feel, and I strongly believe in this, that you must write what you are passionate about, what you love because then you will write from the heart. And if you write from the heart, then you will be able to touch the hearts of other people, which this is all about
Thank you ma'am, for that wonderful advice. It makes a lot of sense because if you ride for the market, you might get instant publicity, but as you get instant, it also goes away instantly. So it's advised to research on the topic you want to write, first, read on the topic you want to write, and more importantly, read as much as possible and then choose the topics to which you are connected because that path will be a slow path
