THAILAND AND THE INTERNATIONAL DRUG TRADE ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ

article image placeholderUploaded by @MichaelHilliard
When the military handed power back to the civilian administration, they put in an amendment saying the military gets pretty much majority in the Parliament and the military can decide a certain number of members of Parliament. So effectively every election, the military going with the default of owning about 45% of the seats, which means that effectively the military only need to win 5% over a very fractured political process

This is so helpful to remind us of who is behind the curtains...

So I appreciate this as a reminder of a larger geopolitical orientation that I want to have all the time. As someone who has purse strings I can withhold when I have the chance to. So thank you so so much

People vs Government, can you Hurt one without the other?

Unfortunately, this is the trouble that if you judge a government based on what they do, every government, there are some good guys out there, but most governments tend to have a lot of skeletons in the closet. And even then taking tourism money away from these countries, it hurts the people as much as it hurts the government. So it's a really difficult moral choice. And I don't know the answer for it either, because again, I feel exactly with you
