Perfection does not exists. Oh and neither does Failure

article image placeholderUploaded by @MHNmaven
Why. Hello, everyone. Welcome to the Mind Health Network. I'm your mind health network, maven beau. And I'm talking about perfection today. And we might as well talk about failure, too. They don't exist. OOH. Who here is going? What? What? No, they do. They do. I posted this. This was on social media, believe it or not. How can psychology majors be depressed? Like, Bro, just look at your notes

Hi, Beau. Thank you for this message. I really like your post. That's hilarious. Like, just look at your notes. Yes, I struggle a lot with perfectionism, like, I think a lot of us do. And I've really been trying to lean into the failure that you're talking about

Instead of taking it as a learning lesson and moving on, the only way that you can get better and improve is first you have to have a result. You have to do something. And each time you learn from it, you get better and better. So, yes, I really love perfection does not exist and neither does failure. Love the post. And I look forward to hearing from the other individuals that will join the conversation

Hey, Chelsea. It's been a while. I am so proud of you, stepping out of your comfort zone, out of your perfectionism zone and going for it. Hey, someone's got to get it right. Somebody's got to get that job. Why can't it be you? Just because you don't have every single point that they're looking for doesn't mean there really is. Anyone that exists has all of those points. Here's the thing

Nakesha, thank you so much for your reply. I am so glad you love this post. It is something that I think I go back to. I think this is the second time I've posted something about one or both of these things. I probably have posted about both of them at some point. I mean, I've done I don't know, it's way over 100 broadcasts at this point. So here's the thing. I love this that I found. Perfection does not exist

And as far as I'm concerned, there are opportunities to learn and grow, and sometimes these mistakes may not necessarily be a mistake. It could be a redirection into a different path or a different road we're to walk down in life. Now, going on to perfectionism, being a virgo, I have struggled always with perfectionistic tendencies, and that is something that I'm constantly working on and really being comfortable with who I am. I know I'm not perfect

I think everybody should really go at this with a little humor. Take it serious so you don't get yourself depressed. Like you said, perfectionism and failure, they're just too extreme. And if you're continually comparing yourself to other people, you're either wanting to maybe not want to, but you're kind of gearing towards am I superior to others or am I just useless? Don't even go there. Get a good laugh in today, guys

So sometimes as I go on to pick topics, sometimes they're random where I have it pop up in my day because of something that happens and I think, oh, I need this reminder and I think this would be a great broadcast to share right now because I'm totally in this

@GoodEnough

Or was it because you were focusing on your customer, you were focusing on the tasks at hand and just doing the best job you could do and you were rewarded? There's a huge difference in mindset and perception and overall feelings within oneself. So that was an interesting one. So I'm interested to hear your answer if you think that type of thing is a competition based structure in our brains and on our emotional side. Anyway, thanks again

And the sad thing is, is people there's so many filters and false portrayals of people's lives that people that sit and look at certain things and really want those things and then they try to one up the post before them and everybody's competing for likes it's almost like you could be competing for something that's not even a reality. Like I said, filters or just posting their best picture and they had just got off a crying jag because their life isn't going the way they want

I love that you brought being content into your response. That's better than how I could have even put it contentment. And then when you added the filters, the falsifications, the mask that everybody's putting on in order to play the game, to be the best, to have the competition, to get the likes it's all about the popularity contest, right?

I almost feel like it's like a new version of a computer or an Apple iPhone. You know how they keep upgrading? It's 13.2, it's 14.5, and it's always upgrading. So I feel as we are learning and growing as a collective group on the Earth, we keep upgrading and upgrading and upgrading, and we keep going up different levels. And I think that's what it's about, because you can't take it with you

Families were way tighter knit a couple of generations, even one back, than they are now. And I just find that very boddy because I would love to be tight knit, but you have to be around others that appreciate that. So yeah, I think a little too much isolation and along with that, then you're only interested in what you're interested in on a daily basis because you're alone with your thoughts too much. There was something else that I was thinking about

And I too have fallen prey to that going well. She seems really cool. The interviews she's done this and that and the other. Everything seems cool. She seems good. She does charity. Wow. I mean, I wonder if we could be friends if we knew each other. She seems like my type of people. Blah, blah, blah. These are all like kind of fantasy filled things in your brain with social comparison
