Grace Under Pressure

article image placeholderUploaded by @MHNmaven
So why don't we, when we are under pressure, reveal our priorities to ourselves? Take a pause. Hit that pause button. Reveal what your priority is right now. Take a look at your outlook. Take a look at how you view yourself and your behavior right now and your behavior towards others. This is the most important thing to build true character, not only in a character of a book that you're writing, but also within oneself

Pressure with no courage can be enlightening.

Hey, Bo. This topic is so interesting to me. It's something that I specifically tried to teach my children from a very young age that stick to your character regardless of anybody's bad, bad behavior. Don't let their bad behavior change who you are. And I just think that is so valuable when you talk about pressure and courage and people showing who they are. The way you explained it is just so spot on to me right now. It's sitting very well with me

I've had countless challenges and things I've had to overcome and I've had to, in my lifetime, overcome impossible odds. The situations I've been put in, most people were to run from, to be quite honest with you. When I lost my first wife, I was young, she was young and I had to raise two sons and a daughter all on my own. And I struggled for years, even sold my plasma for food money

Hey, Eric, thank you so much for the reply. Yes, the response was beautiful. Perfect, perfect, perfect. First and foremost, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your wife. It's amazing. Sounds like your amazing father, raising your children by yourself, doing what it takes to survive. Definitely a lot of pressure there

After many years of having to build an It career and raising my kids, I got to a point where once they start, things were good, and I was making good money, and the kids were personally pretty much grown and kind of doing their own thing. I would often reflect during my quiet times of my day and think back and wonder if what happened long ago had been a movie, it would have played out like this. Okay, so you have a big personal loss

I think now with the knowledge that I know from psychology, from philosophy, from behaviorism, from just groups, I've participated and led my education, all kinds of different things, and I really have more of an open minded perspective of how things work, I kind of look back and go, wow, you know what? You have had all these many traumas throughout your lifetime, and you didn't think of them at that point

Hey, Bo. Eric here. Thanks so much for your reply to my post. I always enjoy listening to what you had to say. Hey, question for you. Since I'm working on more than one book, just so that I'm piecing the conversation together in my head here, which book did you say you would love to hear more about? Was that the fiction, novel or autobiography?

What you were just talking about, I believe was your autobiography, which sounds really interesting, so but I would love to read anything you've got. I love books, I love expanding my knowledge base. Anything where I can be a sponge and soak up any more wisdom is always a good thing

Hey there. So in thinking about grace under pressure, I kind of feel like grace is the opposite or showing grace is kind of like the counter to control. And so I think when people have a lot of things going on, situations and a lot of things to manage, there's like this need to try to control control everything and make sure that it goes how they expect it to go or whatever

I just didn't have the energy. But I love, love, love your response. And everything you've added thus far to this conversation and others is always so good. And here's the thing. You're absolutely right. The control thing is the biggest thing. And here's the thing. When things get out of control, you're overwhelmed
