What are your favorite movie soundtracks?

"…And as soon as that movie gets brought up, that song is the first thing that pops in my head because it just is so identifiable to the film. I've noticed that for me, I like a lot of acoustic based sound tracks, and I think it's because they provide the sense of naturalism that helps me connect to what's going on.…"

"…This is a great topic. There's so many incredible movies out there that I would love to add to the list for movies like almost famous to the more recent one, The Guardians of the Galaxy series as well. They have again, these are movies that really come alive because of the soundtrack. But if I had to pick one, I think the one that I remember the most is relatively obscure movie called Robert Downey Jr. Kiefer Sutherland and We're On A Rider and it captures the soundtrack.…"

"…Because there's also like a lot of these different attachments to the music from outside. So intellectually speaking or experiences. I've had memories, emotions, et cetera. And so you're taking all of that baggage and piling it on top when you're incorporating it into a movie. Yeah. I think it really depends. And I suppose this is subjective, right?…"

"…Still, one of my favorite films of Tom Cruise that a lot of people don't really talk about. And the music Cameron Crowe, I believe he was in charge of the music. He's the one who directed, I believe, adapted the film. It was based off of indie foreign film that they redid for the American audience. I think they had, like, a Rolling Stone song in there.…"

"…I also love that you brought up Kiss from a Rose because when my wife was pregnant, her and I would sing that song, and our baby would just kick over and over again. So that kind of becomes him. Our go to song to sing to Tim. And so on top of the Batman movie just holds an extremely special place for us. Thanks again for the response.…"

"…I don't like soundtracks with pop songs. I will say The Graduate works perfectly about a boy. It's wonderful, but a lot of places I find it's lazy filmmaking. One clear sign of evidence is this is the overuse of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah in TV series. But I think with shows early on American Graffiti and The Big Chill 1983, those songs are used as heavy into nostalgia and carrying the character's emotions. And it's a shortcut. It's a shortcut for the filmmaker.…"

I think a good film score is a higher bar than matching a song to a scene
