CAN WE EVER GO HOME? Impressions of an Expat

I said something foolish. And if I wrote for every friend of mine that died, she went on, that would be hundreds of songs. And so it goes. The toothpaste can never go back into the tube. We can still crack ourselves up and smooth out some old wrinkles. The band will never get back together. But we can still make a little noise. All right. That's for today. So what do you think? Can we ever go home? Let me know

And I think you described one perfectly, especially when you were surprised that everyone was in because that speaks to a connection that brings you all into a place somehow, even though you can't necessarily relive it. And I just think it's wonderful and just so wonderfully told. And I thank you

Thanks, Jayl. It's really nice to get your thoughts on this in other places where I post impressions of next bat. I got had a lot of conversation about reunions, and it kind of ran into high school reunions and how you really get these guilt trips to go to them. And depending on what your experience was like in high school, there's really no reason to go back and see those people
