Should we suppress our cravings?

article image placeholderUploaded by @Manalika
I have gained a lot of weight. And right now I need to get back to the shape I was before and I need to do yoga. I need to go to Jog every day. I have to do exercise to get back to the healthy lifestyle. Right. But as soon as you see or smell something delicious, you just feel like, okay, let me just eat this for the last time. And from tomorrow I'll start with my routine

I don't think we should. We suppress our cravings. It's just your brain telling you what it needs. And I'm talking about it mentally because we can at least minimalize the amount of our craving intake. But you shouldn't suppress it, I guess, because your brain just requires those happy hormones to make you feel good. If it doesn't make you healthy, you should just take a more proper control over yourself. Maybe, I don't know

Like adding my opinion to your thought. I would just think that it is not at all healthy to suppress our savings. It is very important to actually respect our savings because the more that we suppress them after the point it gets so collected that like you said, we do want to eat that thing then I don't think it is very good to divide foods between junk or something

Yes, exactly. I mean, suppressing happy hormones will lead to nowhere, right? We'll be more sad and depressed as compared to when we were overeating so, yeah, a complete control over the portion is better rather than completely controlling your diet, I guess, right

Yes, absolutely. We should respect our cravings because, you know, sometimes people tend to underweight and they think that, okay, let me just not eat today. And this might help me reduce weight. But they don't understand that due to this, they are not only affecting themselves physically, but mentally as well. And the whole situation just deteriorates and nothing good comes out of it. So we should just keep a balance between suppression and cravings
