Audio Engineering, Music Production

article image placeholderUploaded by @Loststaterecs
Hey there, trying to start a thread on swell talking about music production, audio engineering. If there's anyone out there that has any inclination to talk about music gear or talking about recording bands, ends or anything to do with music production and or even like live venue stuff, maybe some crazy stories or stories with the artists that you've worked with. Feel free to jump on and talk about whatever

But I just would love to learn more about how you use audio, what you're doing, what kind of projects you're into, if you've been collaborating, and if the live space coming back is influencing how you're doing music. So look forward to hearing more

So I'm currently a sophomore in College and I definitely want my career to be within the music industry when I graduate. That is my top goal. And I can't wait to to listen to your swells and the threads in them and just all of that to learn hopefully more than what I already I don't know much, but I'm just hoping to listen in and be able to learn some stuff. So I'm really excited to see the kinds of posts that you make

And I don't know, it just made me think of that because my dad's always talking about how, I don't know, like mosh pits get pretty crazy and everything, talking about the stuff he's seen in there. So I don't know, just kind of a cool connection

You can actually just move and highlight exact areas where you want and then just fold it up and then all the files get closed into like one main file. Reason it's a little more just straightforward. Like most audio workstations, there might be a way to do it. I just haven't really looked into it. I usually mainly use it for making electronic music and or just making music instead of doing it for production stuff

But I think if you don't come up and find ways to get into music on your own or there's not really much of an opportunity where you're at. I think College is a good way to like get your foot in the door. It's always going to be harder after College. I even went to a community College where I did a music tech degree certificate. It wasn't even like a degree degree, it was just like what's called a trade school thing

@isabellacroston #venues #liveconcerts #audioengineering #musictalk

Working in venues is a very stressful job depending on what you're doing in that venue. Production wise, stressful because you're the one in charge of everything, audio and stage and stuff. Not as stressful because you're just there and you set up and you do your part and then if something happens, you're kind of just there and hopefully security, if anything gets rowdy. Security is the one who is going to be in control of that

@Loststaterecs #MusicProduction #Mixing

Hey, Trey, what's happening? I'm definitely interested in hearing more tips about music production and mastering and mixing. I recently stumbled on a new hobby of DJing, so I'm not sure exactly how much music production and DJing go hand in hand. I'm pretty sure they kind of, like, mixed together at some point with music quality, sound quality and making sure your speakers sound good and everything like that

And if you make all the songs and then mix and master and do all that yourself, which some people do, like say Dead Mouse or other bigger producer DJs, they make most of their music, but sometimes they'll outsource it to get it mixed and mastered, like actual Studios for that. But yeah. As far as the audio engineering aspect of DJing, I have DJ before. I used to DJ in Seattle at a club with the Homie

@Loststaterecs

Hey Trey, thanks for the response man. I was just asking because I was just curious if there was like anything major to look out for audio wise. I was just curious on that. Thank you for the final tip. By the way, I know way files are much larger compared to MP3 files. I think used to DJ too. That's really awesome. Again looking forward to more views your music production postings man. I appreciate it and take care. Bye

@k-gifted #dj #serato #traktor

There's a lot of things in Tractor as far as learning how to DJ with dropping samples and using samples and in lieu of playing the music and beat matching or transferring the song to the other one and adding different samples and sound effects, there's a lot that goes into it and yeah, just curious to start off like what you're using and thanks for dropping in the thread, my dude. I appreciate it

@Loststaterecs #DJSoftware

I never used that one before. I think once I get a dedicated DJ controller to really play around with the different DJ software, I think I'll be okay. I'm still trying to figure out which software I want to use, though, but I think once I get a real DJ controller to mess around with, I should be good
