Being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult

article image placeholderUploaded by @Loststaterecs
And it hasn't been until the last year or so where I fully have tried to get a diagnosis and tried to see what's actually wrong with me. And it's been a journey, but I'm very close to being done with my diagnosis and possibly trying medication and starting new therapy through a treatment center here in Portland, Oregon. It's been exciting to to learn that, like, there's things I could do to, like, help myself

I have recently been diagnosed with pretty serious ADHD, I spent most of my life, not realizing there was something going on with me

But at the same time same time it's exciting now to have these new understandings and be able to adapt and adjust things for myself, to live a better quality of life, I guess you could say, without the same amounts of shame and guilt for being flawed or failed in this way or that way. Instead recognizing I'm just wired differently. Neither good nor bad, just different. Which means I need different tools and assistance and so on, right?

If there's long days where I have back to back meetings, having some meetings where I stand and I articulate to people I need to stand, I'm at a point where I need to stand or you're going to lose me, or taking the miniature walk, or just doing something so that I can stay as focused as possible. I look forward to reaching the space where you are, where I have a formal diagnosis
