We saw how waterboarding and torture weren't effective in getting information, but they were also entirely unacceptable. This might have been available to the public and dry news stories, but the dramatic presentation brought it to life, and that really makes a difference in understanding and making us care. So when I watch the events occurring in Afghanistan right now, I almost think I'll need to watch the movies and TV shows depicting this in order to understand what on Earth is actually happening
