What are you NOT watching and why?

article image placeholderSquid Game
I'm getting closer to watching the Squid Games. I have a few friends whose taste I always rely on to steer me well, and they are saying it's a great show, but that hasn't put me over the edge. Do you have a show or movie that everyone is watching? But out of stubbornness, some other reason you are reticent to watch. Maybe we could exchange some non recommendations. I'd love you to share what you are reluctant to watch and why you feel that way

I’m unsure about watching Squid Game. #popculture #television #streaming #movies

You know, I was in this course and that was one of the books that we had to read, and we just spent so much time with it that there's something about watching the story on screen that just doesn't sit right with me. If that makes sense, maybe it doesn't make sense, but I know that it's a really popular show. I've heard that it's a really good show. I don't know

@Maddie

I haven't even heard of this Shiva. I mean, I saw Shira back when it was original cartoon in the 80s. I'm curious if this is a remake or they're just bringing that back or what it is, but I'm not a big animated person either. I haven't heard of Invincible at all, so I guess I'm out of it that way. Sorry, that was my dog. And then S*** Creek

@Taylor yes I’ve read/seen The Handmaid’s Tale

And I agree with people who say it's kind of like struggle p*** where it just is over top, all the tragedies and everything that goes on. I feel committed to the show, and that's why I'm watching it. But I can see totally not wanting to watch it, and we'll kind of have to see what it goes through and where it goes

So much! Love Only Murders in the Building, though;)

I think Phil kind of mentioned something like that in another swell and that's fine by me. So once the hype has died down and I've had a moment to resurface, I'll sort of survey it and get into it. And I like having it all to myself. And if it looks worthy, I haven't seen Tiger King. Don't miss it. Don't care. Bridgerton the Crown. I'm sure the Crown is all right

@JLMcMillan having it to yourself

Thank you, Jessica, for your response. One thing you said that I thought was really interesting is when you said that you like having the shows to yourself and so that you watch things in the past. When the Hype of dies down, I think there are certain shows that I feel the same way that I'll watch later on when the Hype dies down. So thanks for making that point. I think that's a good way of looking at it

@lissahoop the squid game is a mind f*** 👀

And if they're real people, these are not characters. And maybe some of that stuff is not scripted, but they do things to make the most provocative things happen. But yeah, I just don't like watching real people make fools of themselves on television. So those are the shows that I avoid, and I just have not watched and not watch. Alright, peace

@PKBriggs interesting!

You talk about the reality shows because I love reality shows, and I was thinking about your idea of an embarrassing people, and I think that what I like about it is that it shows kind of the good and the bad of people in a realistic way, like the Kardashians. I always related to the idea of family being really important, the relationship between the sisters and that they are showing their flaws. But on the other hand, they're showing really loving family
