That's because the mainstream entertainment industry isn't committed to showing otherness in its true fullness messiness and realness. Yet for me, it is a form of whitewashing. It makes me doubt the intent of the movie or television show and could be a distraction. Not because I don't believe that non by Jewish actresses necessarily bad or can't tell a good story. I just wonder if it's really their story to tell
