Never Forget: Holocaust Remembrance Day

I understood that he did not wish to see what they would do to me. He did not wish to see his only son go up in flames. My forehead was covered with cold sweat. Still, I told him that I could not believe that human beings were being burned in our times. The world would never tolerate such crimes. The world. The world is not interested in us today. Everything is possible, even the crematoria. His voice broke

Today marks the 76th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz as well as Yom Hashoah. We remember the lives lost and keep their memories alive.

Elie Wiesel's 'Night' cont.

I think everyone should read some things to keep in mind on this Holocaust Remembrance Day or Yomashawa, whichever you would like to call it. Be a friend to your fellow man, regardless of their religion, their race, their ethnicity, any aspect of their background, be kind and empathize, treat others as you would like to be treated. Stand up for injustice and be an ally and educate yourself on topics you know, you should have more knowledge on, such as the Holocaust

And I say this to people a lot of the time every now and then. It does you some good to shut up and listen to people who have a different lived experience than you. It's that simple. You don't always know everything. And I think that that's partly why we're in this position, why we've been in this position in so many different countries throughout the generations. Right. Because people think they know everything and they refuse to listen to other people

A time to look back on order to move forward

Having a love affair right now with other human voice because it is the voice that sort of transcended anything today, when I listen to both of you talk, and I just looked at your picture, Taylor in the At Picture Channel as well. And the way you spoke about your experience at Auschwitz, there's such a great trend in our society to be here now. And it's this trend that helps people mitigate pain from the past and just look forward
