How does creating help us get to know ourselves?

It's not in chronological order, but it is somewhat categorized by theme, and it just helped. Writing it and finishing the poem itself helped me realize a lot about how I process my emotions and based on the experiences I've had in the past, and it was something I needed to figure out and realize about myself in order to grow and progress

How can art aid in personal awareness or growth? Here's a poem that helped me grow. #arts #writing #poetry #creating

I feel like a lot of us poets, especially, are kind of a little bit jaded, a little bit broken, like. And maybe that's a misconception. But I find a lot of us seem to almost seek to heal ourselves with our own words as much as we want to touch and heal others, we want to heal ourselves. We want to acknowledge that deep, that dark, that hurt and humanize it and turn it more beautiful and express to the world and to ourselves primarily

Everyone's art is unique to who they are

But thank you so much for the kind words in relation to my poem. It really was cathartic for me to write just to sort of think through all the negative coping skills that I've used throughout my life and understand them. And in that way, by getting them on paper, sort of letting them go, or at least processing what I need to do differently. But yeah, thank you so much for sharing. I hope other people share as well

I'm with you on that and also thank you for sharing as well, but I'm still with you on that like I really hope that other people throw some stuff in here. I will definitely keep checking this throughout the day as I get notifications because I I really do believe you're on to something here. And I think you've opened a great forum
