Did you know Cal is the only university in the world built on top of a major fault line!?

And if you see line cracks in the ground around campus, it's probably not for a random reason. And it's probably because the ground is moving beneath us. Actually. Wait, if you go to the Lawson Science Center on campus, which actually Lawson was the person who discovered the Sandra's fault. Fun fact

Okay, we're on top of a fault plan. Actually used to growing up. If we were on the San Andreas fault line, like on the coast, ish it's been a while since I took, like, Earth science class? Probably that was middle school. But as you remember that much, I can't believe that Cal is built on an actual major fault line line. I understand this is just my reaction to the idea, and I really shouldn't be this surprised

Hi, Nikki. Okay. I've since learned that the reason we're bill on the spotlight is because the University started out as a mining College and an agricultural College. So there's Strawberry Creek, and basically at the kind of where the Stadium is. So those Hills up there were used for mining and all the agricultural stuff. And the reason I was there was because basically, mountains get made from earthquakes and plates colliding. So that's why it was here
