How do you know and recognize truth?

And we can't even trust our government communication because they're intentionally working on shaping the narrative to suit their own political agenda. And I find that deeply disturbing. And they think they're absolutely convinced that they're on the side of truth. But unless you do your own research. You don't know what the truth is. So I'm curious about what you think about what I've said and how do you determine what truth is for you? I'm really curious what your perspective is?

I question everything to get to "truth."

And once I'm able to weigh both sides of the coin, then I'm able to kind of make an informed opinion about something like I can't go into it saying Republicans are the devil, because not all Republicans are bad. It's just that certain pockets of conservatism and Republicans can be devious in their intent. Just as with Democrats, you got some far left people that they have some really radical views of what they think the world should change and what we should do to change it

I can go out there and say there were snakes that voted in this election or there were elephants that voted in this election. And so what as truth as any of that? If you cannot present evidence to substantiate your truth, doesn't it just imply that what you're spouting is false and falsehood

And this is a man who has been a journalist for 30 years and has bylines in every major magazine and newspaper, and he's also an instructor of journalism. So I take to heart the fact that journalism is not dead and what journalism do best journalists do best is what human beings should do best across the board, which is to look at multiple sources and have the discipline and rigor to say, you know what here are the facts

The key word is you. When you ask the question, you you're asking for an opinion. And once it becomes an opinion, you can't really base truth off. That because everybody's opinion it's. Yeah. Good question. But yeah. Interesting. Interesting

And she proposed to put herself out, presented herself as a nurse, and we subsequently found out she's actually not a registered nurse, even though she said she was. And then I asked her, Well, where did you get your information from a nurse friend? Well, is this a real nurse friend, or it turns out she's not a nurse. She's a psychiatric aide

@Wuandurful thanks, my meandering reply

Sometimes people add information to someone else's comments or a post, and all it does is obscure it and make it more confusing. Very few people seem to be able to add and build to a conversation and be objective about their comments to have really valid conversations. I think that's the root of a lot of our problems that we're witnessing in the world, especially here in North America, whether it's in Canada, US, I live in Canada. What's their sources?

The truth isn’t all that fun for most either. @LifeOrigami

But it's also how do you handle those moments when you are wrong, I think really goes further into how you handle and also are able to spot the truth, because sometimes you get duped. Sometimes you have these strong convictions of something must be this way. It has to be only for it to not be that way. And isn't that always a great lesson in life? And it's also interesting when you brought that up, where the media, they can only cover so much stories
