Introduction to leadership and learning swellcast

Wow, what a year this has been. I mean, training and development professionals have spent the year revamping learning strategies to really address new goals and objectives. Note, work and learning have taken center stage as learning leaders have diligently worked to convert instructor led training to the virtual classroom. Upskilling employees on the principles of effective digital communication has become and has been the key focus over the past year, and coaching and mentoring have remained core to performance improvement

Natalie, thank you so much for starting this swell cast and making it an open, swell cast that we can all initiate some really compelling conversations

Like, do you have to be in College for all that all the time, or is that something that could be instilled from the top down? You know, why isn't leadership more interested in that? Curiously. So what do you guys think about that

Humanity, morality and ethics

Thank you so much for asking that question. I think it's a great question. Let me say that in my years in the United States and I immigrated here from South Africa in 2000, working with so many and e global brands and engaging also with their leaders, I've seen lots of companies that not only display but actually live morality and humanity in a way they kind of put spirit versus ego into the driver's seat

Natalie, I love the topic. I love where you have started off, and I'm really looking forward to conversations on this. I have followed our leadership, and I'm hoping, hoping that as the year changes and we go into this world of hybrid workplaces, remote plus physical, I think the challenges are going to increase, and I'm really looking forward to discussions and debate

The practice of calm

After what happened today at the capital, it seems hardly valid to discuss exceptional leadership, especially since the President of the United States is deemed to be the highest leadership position in the land. However, after giving it some thought and having switched off MSNBC right now, I decided I would speak about these three things. They're going to be in different swell casts because there's lots of meat to the subject, but they also hold true for leaders and are vital to any organizations success
