And I remember happy times when I was young and five and six years old watching these movies with my dad and laying on his back and sucking my thumb and just spending that daddy daughter time together. And then, of course, we get older and we grow a little bit away from our parents because they get older and we start having our own life. But again, it just brought a sadness to me to watch these movies knowing that we're not going to be so close in the same state anymore

Thank you so much for your reply. That means a lot to me as well. I am originally a West Coast girl, which I moved here in Maryland from Seattle some years ago. But I will definitely cherish this and it is hard. And all we can do is keep the things that keep us close to them as far as our memories and good times and things that we can share and continue to share so that we can forever feel close

I feel you and I can imagine but I can't imagine just having your parents so close and so present and accessible and now they're going to be further away and some people might say it's just 8 hours, just get on a train
