Sri Lanka Crisis: Protestors leave Govt. buildings as Rajapaksa steps down.

article image placeholderOn run, Gotabaya in Singapore, resigns; protesters leave Colombo govt buildings
So after about a week of protesters occupying government buildings, it seems as if the Sri Lankan political impasse has finally had a breakthrough. The former president Rajapaksa has given in his resignation. He initially fled the country to the Maldives and then in turn went to Singapore. But it remains to be seen if Sri Lanka will now be on the path to rebuilding their society and economy. I think there are doubts as to whether Rajapaksa will ever return to the country and stand trial

Well, I definitely had been following the news, and I don't think that Sri Lanka is going to, you know, have developed too soon because of China. And there are so many concerns because of China's intervention, and China might intervene because of this whole thing, because of this whole debt thing. And I feel that things will take another turn and external forces have had to take control over because there is no one who can actually fix all this. And we can see this
