Social Media: Are we taking the negative effects seriously?

article image placeholderUploaded by @JonathanGossett
Well, school doesn't help either and more pain in my body, but that obviously might go with the physical health. But does any of this relate to you guys? Do you notice this and do you think that social media is being taken seriously with the negative effects not even just within yourself or just in general as a society in the United States and as the entire world? Do you think that legislative bodies like politicians are actually giving attention to this and medical experts?

I suffer from depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, add seasonal depression, but it really does mess with your mental. It really does. And sometimes and it's like you said, it kind of gets addicting. I mean I stay up to four or. 05:00 in the morning on Facebook, Twitter. I mean not Twitter, but Instagram, TikTok, I mean all of it until 5600 in the morning and I could be dozen off and still stay up on it

Social media is definitely for highlighting the best aspects of your life. However, I don't think that that's necessarily a good thing. I don't think that people need to constantly be posting about bad stuff too. But I just wonder if this constant posting period is like bad for everyone's mental health because everything is so exaggerated on the Internet too. Things do not are not as they appear on social media

And I can honestly say recently I've been spending a lot less time on my phone and it's been very nice. It's been like some of the most productive days I've had in a week. When it comes to school, when it comes to spending time with my friends, when it comes to just a lot of appointments, spending time with my boyfriend, all kinds of other different things. And I really think that a lot of people could use that, honestly

I mean, you and I are both still very young, but people who only grow up knowing like TikTok. So I would honestly say probably the people who are just not getting their phones, if I assume probably ten and up, ten to 16 year olds. Let's just say that for them, all they're knowing is like TikTok and obviously Instagram and Snapchat and all these different social media aspects as well
