What are your musical dealbreakers?

article image placeholderYou and I, by Caribou
I certainly don't want to be discriminatory, but for myself, it's a must have. So it's a deal breaker in my partner if they are not at all interested in music, not so much what the band is, but I think I can be turned off, like if I were dating, which I'm not, I would be certainly turned off if they like Nickelback or Limb Biscuit or Ted Nugent or some kinds of Cheesy pop. Maybe dad rock? I don't know

Oh Celine ….

What a great question. I would expect, first of all, that someone like you who's so knowledgeable and deep into music, would would really want to vibe with someone about it. It wouldn't just be great if they just thought thought it was so cool that you liked it

@DBPardes Some great points and laughs.

Thanks so much for your reply. Deborah. I'm glad that you kind of get it. I'm not trying to be a snob here, but it is a compatibility thing. I really agree that the kindness and the depth of the person is so much more more important, but it would be information. I like that you really made me laugh with the question on Swell Mats. First of all, of course you have carp launch, but then also the comments on Celine Dion

So I find it's very personal for me, and it's not something I seek in other people, at least purposely. I'm dating, right? So I'm doing the dating apps and stuff, so Emblazone on majority of the lovely ladies out there in their profiles is music like Spotify. They have their Spotify playlists on there, and I always skip that option. So it's just not on my profile because I don't even care like why

Buffalo Stance

And even if it wasn't my thing, I liked that they were passionate about something. And with so many different directions, that music went in the 80s, you learned to be tolerant of other people's musical tastes. Now, that being said, in the 80s, I did have a relationship that I broke off because of music. And that was because she played Nina Cherry's Buffalo Stance for two weeks straight. She bought a cassette single and brought it with her everywhere

Sorry so late, guys! @Phil @FryedOreo

Hey, Joanne and Phil, sorry for their late reply. I think sometimes when a lot of notifications come in, something gets missed. So I was really delighted to double check this conversation and see how it grew. And I love the perspective and the laughs for Dawan. Yeah, I agree that music is a really personal thing
