Some sweet little Christmas tunes not playing on your radio

article image placeholderThe Raveonettes - The Christmas Song
It's kind of cheerful and melancholic at the same time, and I love the treatment that they give to the Christmas standard. They show their versatility, but then they also very much put it within their own idiom, and it's just really refreshing. And if you really like this, I'm going to also include the Christmas song, which was for some reason released at the same time as the EP

Just a quick correction, folks. I meant to say B flat minor. I was just thinking about the Nineties before this post. So my head was in the wrong decade. Thanks for listening

I know it sounds like everyone does their own one or two Christmas holiday albums, but we always hear some of the classics, and sometimes it's good to hear a rendition of some of the classics as well, too. And then some unique new and maybe more progressive songs for the holiday season, too. So we'll definitely be adding some of these to my playlist and some holiday parties I'll be attending, but really great to hear from you and hear these suggestions as well

Hi, Jared. Thank you so much for your reply. It's awesome to know that other people are getting excited about the sheer variety there is. I think sometimes we forget, you know, there's a lot more than Jingle Bells, and there's a lot of original stuff. And then there's a lot of, I think, songs that we know well, but aren't always covered, and that's always nice too. But I do hope that you have fun putting together a list

a few songs I’ll be listening to

And I'm not sure if it was written for John Denver and the Muppets of Christmas together, but that album was this new part of my childhood. A lot of people might prefer When The River Meets the Sea from At Utters Jug Band Christmas, but that song doesn't specifically talk about Christmas, so I prefer the piece Carol
