Culture Talk Tuesdays- The Internalized Male Gaze

article image placeholderUploaded by @jisellas
Hi. Swell. Welcome to Culture Talk Tuesdays. I want to kick this off with something that I've been thinking a lot about, and that is the male gaze and all of its effects on how I view myself, on how I view other women, how I view love

And I think it goes to show us how much the male gaze has impacted the way that we dress, the way we look, the way we talk, the way we act, even if it's subconscious

This is making me think about something that I read in which they are saying that women have internalized the male gay so much that they become their own onlooker and warrior. And so with anything that a woman does and any movement they make, they do it in a calculated way to make sure that they're keeping up this role of being the model woman or the alluring woman

Thanks for posting this topic. This is a really good one. So I've been contemplating gender for the last five years or so because I noticed that growing up and in my teenage years and in my twenties, I never really felt that not comfortable in my skin. And I always felt like I was dressing to impress people and not really dressing how I liked
