What does the word 'hatha' mean in terms of yoga

I would like to help clarify and sort of perpetuate the correct definition of the term Hatha yoga or Hatha yoga, as many people say. I, as a yoga teacher for more than a few years, taught my students that Hatha yoga was any of the various types of the physical practice of yoga, whether it was Ashtanga, a Yangar, Shivananda, any of the schools of the postures, the exercises and the practice of pranayama

Now, when you look at the great forms of yoga that have emerged over the last couple of thousands of years, those that discovered new forms did so on their own. By doing a lot of research, contemplation spent a lot of time and effort in evolving what they thought worked for them and then spreading that to others. Right. It's like some of the best forms of yoga have emerged from these handful of individuals. So it's like the Newton's and the Einstein's in physics. Right

But yes, this idea of hotda has been sort of manufactured into something else other than the truth. I really like your idea and what you're saying here. And I would recommend that you might want to look at this podcast called Yogic Studies that I've participated in some of the online classes. And I'm only offering it as just a suggestion of something that I've enjoyed to really try to at least begin to grasp where yoga comes from and what it's about
