My favorite Ghibli movie is Howells Moving Castle, and that's because the main character, Sophie, is probably one of, if not my ultimate favorite character in a film. She embodies strength and persistence and does so without fear. And I really love love her character. I love how magical gibbley movies are. Even something as mundane as walking to school is portrayed in such a magical way

House Moving Castle is a social commentary on war because that seems to be a very prominent theme in the film, and it's clear from my interpretation that Haya Miyazaki does not condone or believe in war as a solution to political problems, and it definitely comments on some other stuff, too. But I haven't spent enough time analyzing it to go into detail. But that's one of the amazing things about the Studio Ghibli film is that they are children's films, but they're also so much more
