How the pandemic was affected by Skepticism, Cynicism, and Denialism

article image placeholderThis TED Talk (Rethinking doubt) got me thinking
And after seeing how some of the communities in New Zealand and Australia responded to the pandemic, it emphasized how generally communicarian the people are and perhaps how more interconnected they live over there. People in those communities, I feel made decisions and acted in a very and pathetic way and inclusive. Those communities were among the first to return to some form of normalcy. Thanks for listening

The pandemic amplified these three responses, but along empathy or lack of it a pandemic fueled. #empathy #community #information #socialissues

Hi. That was a great persewell, and I think the true personality and character of people and governments alike are revealed during a crisis such as the coronavirus pandemic. Your swell took me back to a famous dog I once read which said that the darkest places in h*** are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality during moral crisis. I've always emphasized the distinction between empathy and altruism, and thank you so much for the categorization between skepticism, cynicism, and denialism

Great post @ivanf

So the least I could do is actually just put on a mass for that short amount of time. But I do want to thank you. This kind of helped me realize engaging in that skeptic engaging with a denialist. It's not going to work on either side. Now, I realize that it kind of puts my mind at ease a little bit. Thank you, Ivan

So when you mentioned denialism, I think it would be interesting if someone could quantify a little bit more like what percentage of these people are just experiencing grieving and look at like because you can literally observe people. I mean, I have some friends that they're going through this and they're denying a lot of things, and then they are starting to move through it right now. That might not be everyone

@Karan.Dev Dante quote, happiness index, and opinion about question.

Hi Koran. I hopefully I'm getting your name pronounced right. Thanks for replying. First of all, I was not aware of the Dante quote. I have heard about the Happiness Index and remember Bhutan being among the highest highs and they are credited for the Gross National Happy Index. It would be great to get the perspective from a person from one of those highs in the list. With regards to religion

@Phil Reasoning with a drunk person, facing the unknown, mind at ease.

Honestly, I stumbled upon these three words, doing research of my own to have a discussion with a friend to make sense of it all. I really started to really from the perspective of understanding the pandemic. And then I came across that Ted talk that I put in the image regarding doubt. I definitely recommend that it definitely goes into more depth than what I did here. But anyway, thanks replying. I really appreciate

@RyanCartier interesting input about grieving.

What do you do to manage at work? Somebody grieving change, perhaps other change to a different software practice, practice, et cetera. I think it's hard to many times convince somebody that is comfortable in what they do to change the way they work or the way they live. I have myself through work as well. You know how to convince people of change and how it can be better. And often I would be met with resistance

And oftentimes they don't understand what's going on in the other areas of the organization. So prying them out of their office so that they understand the business better is really important. Not only is it your middle management and your employees that need the experiential, but the people who are going to be leading the new situation and learning the new behaviors they have to be involved as well

some just need time to process

And he needs to go through like, we need to go through one of these improvement events so he can understand how we can double the capacity of the organization. Right. Because he'll put it together. He just hasn't tried to understand it yet. But where I'm going with this is you'll have people who will come at you, whether they're a skeptical denialist, and they just might need time to process. And that's all right
