Subconscious racism pr 1

article image placeholderUploaded by @its_sol_gud
They just don't like the way they go about it, right? It's like you don't have to outwardly shout but it's like, hey, I just kind of the racism that we have now where almost just on first glance say dreadlocks tattoos and black skin, black hair, you might immediately be like oh thug, this is the rap, et cetera. Probably a criminal thinking from the perspective of a white person. I see this guy on TV right now

I don't believe that this will be something that I speak on all the time, but it is a subject that's close to my heart, one centrally. I just downloaded the app and I figured, hey, let's give this a shot. Hopefully we can build some community around some good discussions. Have a good one

@its_sol_gud great post!

I think Seneca, one of the Greek philosophy of old, had a quote similar to that. Poverty is the mother of crime. No, it's Marcus Aurelius. I believe you had said that. And it's interesting that a lot of people still don't make that connection. I was just speaking about this the other day with homelessness. A lot of people want this problem fixed, but that C word, capitalism

And I even correct my mother when we're around her, she'll put her hands in his head and frown up her face, and she's like, it's so chunky, it's so nasty. Cut it off, do this, do that. And I'm like, no, he has beautiful, very thick, tight coils that require moisturization intend to loving care. It's not bad hair. I don't want him thinking that he's bad or God created him

Sol yeah, those are some of the different dynamics that just came to mind. But like I said, there are so many other or ways and avenues that this can go. I look forward to listening to other smells in response to your post

I think it's beautiful what you're doing with your son and of course your niece who has the quote, unquote, good hair. She's probably going to get discriminated against you because she's got black hair, technically, and yet that's considered the good hair. But anyways, I'm rambling. I got to get back to work

And oftentimes it's not even violent crime. It is petty crimes that people are being arrested for, imprisoned for, having their lives completely ruined for. And that's just completely unethical. And I won't get into, like, socialized medicine too deeply, but that kind of goes into that, in my opinion, where it's like, if you're profiting off of suffering, then your industry is unethical. You know what I mean?

However, if you have a person that will abuse his own family member, then you kind of look at that person and you say, okay, well, if that person can wild out on his own family, I know he don't give a s*** about me. So you would be more hesitant. You'll be more careful in dealing with that person. Okay? Sol, this goes the same way, okay?

Because dark skin, blacks are considered, especially males, are considered more dangerous for whatever reason, more sinister. You know what I mean? Whereas darker skinned black women are generally considered in mainstream white America with the Eurocentric standard of beauty that supplied in this country, they're considered not the ideal, the exact opposite ideal of beauty, which things are changing in that area, but it still holds pretty fast in America today. This is something that Bob Marley spoke about
