‘Dune,’ at long last, is a brutal, psychotropic space opera — and a triumph
I would say that Dune is a movie that truly does command your awe as you're seeing it. Villainous is a director who delivered grand science fiction before with his very magisterial brooding arrival and his pretty spectacular and underseen Bladebrunner sequel, Bladebrunner 2049 that is absolutely working within the key of Ridley Scott's nocturnal scifi noir atmosphere that he so established on Blade Runner. I would say that Dune is a perfect match for Villain News tone, which is self serious and grave and unapologetically majestic in scope
