Neill Blomkamp is back! (‘Demonic’ is apparently terrible, but still)

For those unfamiliar with Blomkamp, he is a South African director who blew up out of his feature film debut titled District Nine. It came out in 2009 and received a handful of accolades, including four Oscar nominations for best picture, best adapted screenplay, best visual effects and best film editing. After the success of that film, which was a science fiction action film about aliens landing in Johannesburg, Neil Blomkamp was picked up into the Hollywood studio system

12 years since ‘District 9,’ its director has decided to circumvent the studio system he’s struggled in since.

I think there's just so much about that film that on paper should work and so much about it that's just not quite gelling, which is just a shame, because I think that his time getting that kind of budget from Hollywood might be done, but I think that could be exciting. I'm excited to see Demonic
