A24’s "The Green Knight," on VOD today, is a bold reimagining of Arthurian myth

It takes liberties with the source material, subverts it in surprising ways, delivers some unforgettable images that you won't be expecting. All in all, it's a great time at the movies. I would recommend it and let me know what you think. This is. Isaac Feldberg On Swell With a hearty recommendation of the Green Knight

Translation: go see this wild movie, and revel in the power of Dev Patel!

The closest maybe I have gotten is Lars von Trier Melancholia, which I think came out in 2011. Just really stunning. I felt transported in a way that goes beyond just being lost in the vivid and continuous dream of a fictional world. There were so many stylistic elements here, and I think risks that were taken when it came to how the plot was constructed and how meaning was made visually and through the characters and the interactions. So like I said, still wrapping my mind around it

I've seen a few of his films. I've seen Slumdock Millionaire, but I probably couldn't name one other that I've seen outside of maybe Hotel Mumbai. And I was really impressed

@isaacfeldberg @Taylor Stunning, yes… and also… I have some thoughts

And third, I think you have to go in knowing it's David Lowry, it's a David Lowry film. It's not a Serguine film. It's not a King Arthur film. It's a David Lowry film. You have to go in knowing that I really appreciate you both reflecting on the hallucinogenic nature of the images. I really appreciate that the trailer is gorgeous. The trailer made. My wife and I are really excited to see it

Tim, pardon my delay in getting back to you on this. I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on The Green Light. I think very much in the same way as your wife. I was thinking about a story watching this and like this guy has a very particular vision of what storytelling is meant to do. And I think the idea of him as a deconstructionist is really interesting because I think that his films are all very existentially concerned
