Should books be annotated?

article image placeholderUploaded by @inikachoudhary
So in this episode of Ask Swell, I would like to ask all of you what are your thoughts? Have you ever annotated and regretted, or do you annotate your books with pride? Let me know in the reply section. Thank you for tuning in

To annotate or not to annotate is the question :D #askswell #collegevoiceindia #swellcast #sayitonswell #books #reading #annotation #swellsunday #read

Book suggestions! @maulik_mehta_9

Or maybe Famous Five by Annette Blighton If you're looking for some classics, I read a trilogy by Holly Jackson. It's a good girl. Sky to Mother. So that's also a very good modern mystery thriller story. Then maybe if you're leaning towards romance or sad stories, sort of. So you couldn't go with the Fault in our stars or looking for a last cup. These are poet books by Joan Green that I've read

@inikachoudhary Depends on the purpose and type of reader.

It's at the end of the day about active reading versus passive reading. There are ways to annotate books without kind of dirtying them, for the lack of a better word. But annotating a book doesn't equate to making it dirty, in my opinion. Even though I don't physically annotate books anymore, I take a photo and then annotate that, because the thing anyway, is going to be used for some digital work that I do

Hello, Binati. I hope I'm pronouncing your name right. And thank you so much for giving this perspective on this question, because at the end of the day, it actually does come down to opinion and on the purpose of reading as well. I am a student and I love to annotate my school books, at least. I write a lot in my textbooks. I mark things, I write in the margins
