@drsunitatank

I will begin with the topmost question in all our minds. Dr. Sunita, how do you think the covert scenario has influenced the hiring of talent in India

It is very important also for all the companies and for all the Hrs to consider the health scenario of the employees and of their family members as well. So the hiring has been pretty difficult with the changed mindset of people around, with the changed mindset of people approaching a company and receiving the kind of facilities they are expecting the organizations to serve them. And it is pretty difficult. And the employees are changing jobs more frequently being in the online mode

It is said that the age of the generalist has dawned with more and more people being required to have varied skill sets now especially with things moving online. So in your opinion what are the skill sets that students need to focus on in a post COVID world

Now when you talk about the skill set required postcovid, yes, your content has to be very strong. And secondly, the understanding of digital marketing at each and every stage, whether you are from HR, whether you are from Marketing, whether you are from Finance, whether you are from any other background, economics, whether you are from a business analyst background, whichever background you are coming from, the understanding of digital world has to be very clear

Thank you for that insight, Dr. Sunita. Another peculiar situation that has arisen because of the pandemic is also the fact that many students have been forced to go online for the major part of their College life. So do you think career prospects are likely to be affected because of this? Because they might not have had offline exposure to several areas which they should have ideally. Right. So how do you think this might pan out, you know, when they actually go out exploring the job market

The kind of knowledge they have gained over in the online mode has also been compromised up to a great level. And in this scenario, you know people who went back to their hometowns where signal was the problem, the network was the problem them appearing in campus placements was even a challenge. So campus placements were also very difficult for students who have done their College life or who appeared for their studies from their hometown. Most of the time the signals were not there, the network was not there

Very true, Dr. Sunita. I think the Pandemic caught most of us on the back foot, and neither were the educational institutions prepared for this kind of a situation, nor were the students prepared. And the infrastructure in some cases was lacking. And I think overall, definitely caught a lot of us on the back foot as far as training and skill set development, etc. Is concerned

Covid has been a blessing to people who are from It or who were from digital sector in the past two years. From my overall career of 23 years now, I have never seen It or digital sector so much in demand and every job, every entrepreneurship or any corporate project, internship, everything is 100% linked to It and digital stuff. So one sector which has seen a great growth in all times is definitely It

So something which is unique and which has a daily or a link to daily necessity of life is very, very important for the startup to survive. Another very, very important question when you talk about, when you talk about the startup, is that how stable is your startup? What was your vision when you started off with this startup? Your own vision, the reason behind your startup is very important for its stability and sustainability

That needs revision. After each and every, let's say a span of at least six months, you have to really do self introspection. That what you all incorporated in terms of technology, the funding part, the strategies, the people and what kind of service you have been giving to people, how your service is performing and how your product is performing, depending upon the kind of startup you have, how you have to make the modifications. That has to be seen after every six months of time

That's a great piece of advice for youngsters. Who would want to go the startup way, who would wish to take the entrepreneurship route? Which brings me to the next question. What is your vision with leaders in the that you have founded? What is the goal of the organization and what is the kind of work that you have been doing in this area
@drsunitatank

So from that point of time, I founded Leaders in Making. Leaders in Making incorporates different kind of counseling activities, training, grooming people and coaching. Apart from different kind of assessment, I use my own personal observation wherein I see that where the person coming to me, in what area the person is seeking my support and what intervention will be useful for the person to strengthen his capabilities and to perform in his own area of expertise. So rather comparison or giving them the whole story of the whole world

Hello, Dr. Sunita. Thank you so much for this great conversation. I really had some interesting takeaways from the insights that you had shared in this conversation. And I also had a question to ask of you. Do you think that the pandemic has in some way help level the playing field between men and women at work? I'm not sure if this question is slightly off topic, but here it goes

We got the networking, we got the exposure. It is equal with men and women both. We have to really see that from which space of mind, heart or soul, this difference is coming. I have seen thousands of males along with women who has explored the world more, better, virtually. I understand that a lot of women were at home and for the first time they got an opportunity to network so much

Thank you so much for your reply, Dr. Senata. Your bang on when you say that the limits that we put for ourselves are purely within our heads. And of course, juggling multiple things has never been been a problem for women. It's just that the pandemic and the flexibility offered by technology and working from home has provided women with a time efficient way to juggle both personal and work life while also making sure that it doesn't affect their professional growth
