A massive operation is underway since last night to rescue about 39 people believed to be trapped inside a tunnel after a glacier burst in Utrakhand on Sunday. The burst caused flash floods that led 18 dead and over 200 people missing. The twelve foot high and 15 foot white tunnel at Tapovan in Chamole was blocked with flush and debris trapping workers of an NTPC thermal power plant that was washed away.
