What are your thoughts on freebie politics?

article image placeholderAAP’s welfare model vs BJP’s labharthi: Kejriwal eyes dividends in freebies fight
And the AP has countered this saying that the freebies are welfare schemes that they are rolling out to support people from lower income groups. And while the Election Commission has stated that the term freebies is something that's very open to interpretation and cannot be legally defined, the Supreme Court has just yesterday acknowledged that the impact of freebies promised by political parties a very serious one on the country's financial health and was a major issue that needs to be addressed

Like the things which I just mentioned, it's not good at all. So in my opinion, freebies should not exist. Welfare scheme should exist. Most of the political parties nowadays are the ones who are giving out freebies are misusing this word. In fact, they're using this in order to misconstrue and form a gloomy impact on the political parties which are giving out welfare schemes that shouldn't be done and that should be understood by people

The taxpayer or the people like us has to be at the front of the higher taxes and less quality of living as the government shifts the fund meant for development to provide the freebies to the people

I think the Supreme Court should fix a certain balance or a certain percentage of GDP which can be spent on the freebies so that the political party does not misuse them for their personal gain and don't just care about the short term political gains which they might get because of the previous, but also the long term thing which can impact the states

Yes, they work at grassroots level very strongly and no matter what you see in the media or on the mainstream news channels, the undercurrent in Delhi is still quite strongly with the Amadivity because they are working on Rash route levels. Yes, those who know him personally I don't know him personally, but I know people who know him. So he is very funny and he has a highly attuned sense of sarcasm

The only thing that I appreciate and understand these days is we have some real leaders who talk about the development of the country rather than talking about the free leads or talking about the free gifts. I things personally, we are having a much educated crowd and like me, many talk about the development of the country. Today the agenda is all about national development

To be honest, I wasn't quite aware of how the ground situation is in Delhi and that side of the country because I'm from down south and the freebie culture is something that I was more focusing on rather than individual cases of where political parties have been playing around with this freebie culture to get brownie points. So I'm really happy to hear that this is all smoke and no fire about tooth between BJP and Amadi party, but the general overall problem still is there in our country

So this angel works in a far off tier four or tier three place as compared villages. It is actually in one of interior states of Manav Stone. So there was an interesting question which a person could ask what do you think about the pension system, sir? And it was a prevailing topic at that point in time, I think something related to pension schemes for the government servant or some MLA, I guess it was prevalent this word pension was going on in there

Hello people. Good day and hope you are all doing great. I wish you a happy sleepy Sunday. Okay, so coming to to our discussion here on this swell from my point of view freebies or welfare schemes, whatever you name it, I would definitely say it is needed. One of the recommendation I will add is given with an intent to secure social order and economic justice government should make sure it goes only to the required or not for all

One more statistics to add. So as per the report from Nidiya Ayok in Tamil Nadu the percentage of people below poverty lines 4%. As for the report, for us in Maharashtra it is 15 and in Gujarat it is 17. So I don't think I freebies are that much dangerous as

Hello, Ramya. Thank you for this interesting and very relevant topic of freebie culture. And as you have said that Supreme Court has has explained, or rather Supreme Court was not able to explain what actually this freebie is like because it's open to interpretation. So for me, yes, freebie culture is a problematic things when it comes to political parties because it gives them something which is very unusual and which is very strange also because in Indian, whatever is free, we want to have it
