Self awareness as an artist

article image placeholderUploaded by @gretalaundyart
So my friend Amber, who is also an artist, suggested I do a list of do's and don'ts when I was talking to her about a problem I was having with my work. And it's been actually very useful because I think when you are a creative person, you tend to go to things that make you feel comfortable. And the whole point of progression in an arts practice is to push your comfort limits. That's how you grow. And I'm all about that in my practice

Yes!

And when you talk and vice over work, you have to be really deliberate also depending upon the direction of the director and how they want you to talk. But very helpful to have guide posts right there visually on my monitor when I would do my work. And what I love is I always look at things and the metaphor of things. And one of the things that struck me about your list is walk away when something isn't working or stop when it's not working

Yourself, because I know you're at, like, tea and getting good sleep because you're having to do so much networking out there. So got a speed with that

There's so much to be said for doing that. Yeah. I'm glad you're going to start on a little list. That's a great start. And I haven't thought about applying the do's and don'ts to my own personal life. It's just my work life. But that's a good idea, too. Interesting conversations

Yeah, to actually just sit the thinking process of life is so important. It's so underrated because it's not visible to the world. It's yeah, it's a really important aspect of life and work. Thank you
