Hiking Mt Baldy in LA county

article image placeholderUploaded by @goatea
Good morning. Swell. This is Mike checking in. I wanted to tell you about a hike we did last weekend, Mount Baldy, here in Southern California, the highest point in Los Angeles County 10,600ft. We started at around 6000ft, so it was about 4000ft gained quite a hard hike, but well worth it. I highly recommend doing something like that. If you want a challenge and a different kind of hike than your standard, Topanga style hike, it was real, almost Alpine

And anytime I wish I could go to La, I always wish I could go to Mount Baldy because you get the most commanding views whole city. And it's so amazing. It's

Heat? But soooo overdue to go!!

I can't believe how close it is to La, but I was wondering if it's too late to go this season. Or do you still think we could? We could sort of bear it? I guess early morning is the best time to go. I'm overdue. Oh, my God. I'm overdue. Thank you for the poke

So we had a bunch of shades still and arrived kind of at the ski Lodge point when it started to get hot. So we then only had about an hour and a half to 2 hours in the Sunshine. And it was bearable. It was okay. Recommendation of courses wearing a hat and lots and lots of water. We brought six liters each, and that was about enough super fun, highly recommended, but maybe leave even earlier, maybe leave at four and start the hike at five
