Picture Perfect City: Street Performers

And the average New Yorkers also engage in one way or another in some form of street theater where their role is just to get to the day and hopefully earn some money. I took this photo in 2010 in Washington Square Park, but it easily could have been taken just yesterday or night 60. It's one of the reasons why the park is one of my favorite places in all of the city. There's a near seamless thread between the past and present that exist at this location that's reading

Yes, New York City is one big open mic stage and street theater. Thank you so much for sharing this. And I agree. You described Washington Square Park so beautifully. Just this? Yeah. Timeless place. It's definitely one of my favorite spots in the city. And it's often where I tell folks who are visiting to meet me at Washington Square Park and explore the Village and just take all the life and all the music and performance that happens there and all over the city

I think recommending Washington Square Park is sort of essential because there's so many people who come across it who are visiting New York, who are like, wait, what is this place? It sometimes isn't on the radar because people are thinking about Times Square, Statue of Liberty, and prior state building
