The 7 Dollar Coffee Addiction

article image placeholderUploaded by @gabrudolph
But I don't know, there's just something about going to a coffee shop and being there and the vibes and then having somebody like the barista hand it to you. I don't know, I just like that. I think it's still good to treat yourself every once in a while, but I definitely do need to be better a little bit to not waste my money. I just dropped like $30 on espresso pods, so I should probably use it

But for whatever reason, I felt like going on a walk before I started my day. And there is a cool local coffee shop near me that's sort of built into an old railroad track and it's like there's like a train car. So I decided to go on whatever it is 1 mile walk in the morning, listen to my podcast, grab a cup of coffee, enjoy myself, and then get to work

Just saying I love coffee and I know it can be expensive just like wine. So you have to treat it kind of like wine. If you're willing to pay a certain price, then you are willing to pay a certain price. And if you're not not, you can find another type of coffee. So I think that it's a really interesting beverage and it's I think the number two or three beverage in the world consumed behind water and tea

Okay. I love this topic because I think about it all the time. Sometimes I go to Starbucks and I'm like, I don't even really want to drink, but, like, I always do

Yeah, I do want to talk about Starbucks because I feel like that is the perfect encapsulation of marketing and the experience at the coffee shop and the ritualistic aspect of going to a coffee shop that has really good marketing. And it's like the whole experience that you're really paying for, right? I'm not just paying for a coffee drink when I go to Starbucks. I'm paying for the Starbucks experience because their Martin team has done so well in creating this really nostalgic experience for me

@gabrudolph You are not alone 🙏🏾😁

And what happened for me is once the pandemic hit and then I couldn't sit in the cafe anymore. That sort of disrupted the whole experience for me because I realized it really was buying the drink. Sitting there, drinking it and just taking all that in and just buying it and going to my house was kind of like. And then also now they don't let you do your own, like half and half or cream. And I absolutely don't like a lot of cream
