I’m Done With Bezos

article image placeholderUploaded by @FryedOreo
It's recently in my town. Walmart, a popular stores national chain here in America, has elected to start closing a large amount of stores. And it closed a store that I was going to that I frequented, and April 21 will be its last day operating. And I was there maybe a week or two ago, I was getting some groceries when it was just a cacophony mess of loud voices and supervisors and managers screaming at the top of their lungs

Will physical stores survive?

Target is fine. So when it comes to these stores, it became very prevalent during the pandemic how useful Amazon became. Now, Target never shut down. You just had to go by their COVID-19 protocol policies or whatever. But it really set the difference between going into the store and shopping online. And I would say that I shop online more so than going into the store because it's just easy. It's just easy

So can this be the revolution of the moms and pops in an era where, yes, it may cost a bit more money than what Amazon is delivering or promising, but instead of worrying about two day shipping or shipping, you can just buy it from the store and leave, like how they used to do back in the day. I understand the convenience. I get it. Me personally, the times I have grocery shopped online have been cool, but there are substitutes quite often

So let me know how that goes without having prime for a year and having to go into the stores, because I've noticed that the malls are looking barren. You see all these spots that used to have stores that don't have stores, stores and things are being moved around where the store used to be that it took over a spot where there wasn't any stores anymore. So this is interesting to watch

Now, Walmart does not share these poor performance numbers that they feel certain chains aren't hitting, that others are. Of course, they're never going to make that public. Maybe if enough pressure is put on them, it could be made public and then we could see once and for all what is the real time value of a location

Is it something that we would consider buying based upon other people's thoughts about the product or pictures about the product? That's what I see. But sometimes when you read the actual listing, it will say it is sold by and it has like this weird name, right? And I think Amazon is just warehousing these items and that they're getting a cut off of the sale of the item. Amazon really doesn't have all these products

I'm at to do a bit more research on that because it feels like business either can't work in the inner city or just don't want to work in the inner city. And I wonder, how was it back then in the inner city in terms of grocery store chains and whatnot? I guess that's something I'll have to ask my parents and grandparents. But, yeah, this is a fascinating topic for me because I am wondering what is the future of store shopping?

So now you can get your stuff delivered to your house, making going to the stores even more painstaking. Right. It reminds me of that movie Wally, where everybody on the ship got fat because they didn't do things for themselves anymore. And it's almost like you have a service industry thing going on because if you can afford it, those that need the service and was willing to pay the money to have things delivered to them by somebody else
