What’s the future of Social Media Influncers?

Maybe some of you aspire to be this. It's okay. It's okay. There's nothing wrong with it. A social media influncers the prospect of being able to to serve millions and get compensated for it, to quit your day job and to make being online 24/7 a career is electrifyingly enticing. It used to be weird back in the day to hear someone say they're a YouTuber. Now we got TikTokers. Someone raising their hand above their head. Walking around has become commonplace

Will App Regulations stamp out clever creation? #socialmedia

Is influencering a short term model anyway?

Revlon hires that person. They want to see growth of revenue. And at that point the influencer would say, Well, I don't work for you. I'm not a Commission, and at that point I know Revlon wouldn't care. We just need more sales and we'll find another way to spend money that will find us growth in sales

Radio and television tell the tales of where this is headed @Phil

But I think after a while, the social media users are going to start to at least influncers are going to start to dwindle. But as you said, as long as people are there in numbers with money in their hands ready to give it, there will always be a margin market for that

@KnowWuan Basic questions. Apologize in advance

They're going to see this post and they're going to see your product, and maybe you charge a little bit less for somebody who's just starting off and has a product that wants to be seen in the world and other would pay willing to pay for that or a million users. And that's kind of the revenue that I thought was really kind of shorter term for a variety of reasons. The second line of revenue, I think, is advertising revenue

Money! 💰 @Phil

So it's not the biggest thing. But I mean, if you're getting donations and like the hundreds and hundreds of dollars, obviously, that can be it's its own thing. But other are many ways of generating a revenue stream. So I would say the least dependable is the advertisers that comes from the fact that you got a large audience base, but it's through the Patreons and buy me a coffee, which is what I'm on affiliated with

Thank you! Lots of people taking their cut!

So the money that you get from that you're cutting that up again. And it seems like you have a lot of people wetting their beak into all the money there. So I appreciate you taking the time to kind of walk me through that. I got to think through this a little bit more, too, but, yeah, it definitely doesn't sound as lucrative now that you point out all the people that take their cut after that

THANK YOU KIND SIR! 🙏🙏😆 @Phil

And he's like, oh, man. Oh, thank you. So he was all happy and stuff, because that's how it was for me. Yeah, social media is amazing. It's awesome. It's something I could easily do for the rest of my life. But right now, it wouldn't exactly feed my kids. Maybe a happy meal or two. But that's better than nothing. Thank you very much, sir, for the response

And yeah, there's a catch to it. They give you a book. They do expect a review back, or I do a podcast interview with an author, and they think it's a big deal. But they're not really getting much hits on my podcast, but it's okay. It's fine. But I look back and I'm like, this is good. At least this little bit of books that I'm getting from publishers makes me feel good

Keep at it! @bookishpodcast

And sometimes I can get so caught up in the fact that I should have more than one that I get discouraged from one to do it consistently because I have a need to because it's a personal thing. It's ideas, creative ideas that I'm putting out there. It's not like it's something that is separate from me. It is me on those episodes every day that I put an episode out

@Wuandurful

It'll happen like I started my book club in the beginning of the year, getting two people, three people, three maximum of four people in the book club. That's it. And I just said, Grit says, keep up with it. And now with the pandemic and Zoom. Yesterday, I had not yesterday, but Thursday, I had ten people total on the Zoom call. And then the next day, I got two requests to join my book club

Buy Me A Coffee is just like Patreon. @bookishpodcast

So, yeah, it's fun to talk about this sort of stuff. I talked about this a lot on my old anchor back in the day, so much that I thought I was annoying people. But that wasn't the case. It just was that it was all in my head. I wasn't getting complaints from people like, hey, Dewuan, could you please stop talking about these? Talk about the same thing? I never heard that that was me

Hey, Dewuan, thank you so much for your message. I am enjoying this conversation. It's good to, you know, hear from someone else who feels the same way and thinks the same way. I think we all have this thing of of. Oh, my gosh. It's the content, and it has to be perfect. And that's what it's all about

@LordOfTheGrief
So Alex Jones never existed on YouTube. You know, Alex Jones before he was deplatformed, had no relevance, right? I guess Joe Rogan also. So I never had any relevance on YouTube. So I guess they just never existed. Other has been iconic figures, especially Alex Jones being canceled, you know, and create an Internet rage. Toxic masculinity, definitely. So my ethereal nerves. Okay, you can't even call them human nerves. They're like nerves from a whole different dimension

I need a little more info @LordOfTheGrief

I had to listen back to my original post because I don't think I mentioned Alex Jones or what's the other guy's name? Wait a minute. I got it, didn't mention them. So I don't think I said that they weren't YouTube giant celebrities, but I'm guessing you feel I should have said that to illustrate a point. I don't really watch them or listen to them all that much. So it wasn't even in my mind to think of
