Have you ever been manipulated?

article image placeholderUploaded by @FryedOreo
How about the clothes on your back? How about the items in your refrigerator? How about the items in your closet? How about the car in your parking lot or garage? See, I think it's the wrong question to ask have you ever been manipulated? The correct question to ask is when have you been manipulated? Because I got news for you we all have and continue to be manipulated every single day

This is of course, a trick question.

I believe, to a degree, yes, we all have been manipulated. Once that happens, we have the choice to do and operate differently. I believe the saying goes, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. And so with that being said, if someone manipulates or does someone wrong the first time, okay, that's a lesson. And then that person needs to do the inner work to say in the interaction with I following. I love the bookwell

@Her_Sisu thank you

Her. Sisu. If I said this incorrectly, I apologize. But thank you for not only taking the time to listen to this sweld to also offer an audio response. Blatant, it's a very very negative word to admit you've been manipulated. It feels icky and it feels wrong. It actually doesn't feel wrong. Like immorally, like it doesn't feel correct. I guess what I'm alluding to here is orchestration of manipulation to be a conspiracy

We love loud sounding vehicles. We love that loud sounding engine. Maybe back in the day, vehicles, that's just how they were designed because of the engine or whatever. But modern vehicles, there is no reason for it to sound loud at all. Here in Phoenix, they love showing off how loud their vehicles are. Especially, they'd be in their sports vehicles, right? They'll be in their sports car racing, trying to show off how loud their engines are. Bro

@OmegaStrange it’s scary.

Because when you imessage someone, what happens when you both have iPhone, it's the blue bubble, right? But when you message somebody on Android, it's the green bubble. And you notice when it's the green bubble, it doesn't look quite as right. Sometimes when they send a loan message, it's broken apart. It operates very weird. It's very strange. And this is done intentionally. They want to coax people over into the imessage ecosystem, the Apple ecosystem

I like to think that over the years I've been persuaded, even though I may have been manipulated at times in my younger years. But persuasion tends to advance the position, idea and guides you towards accepting a truth or fact. Persuasion allows me, I guess, to make the final decision based on my consideration, my research, my facts. So it tends to be a bit more positive. So it comes down to, I guess, semantics, right? The difference between persuasion and manipulation

@RookieRunnerPod thank you 🙌

I think there's something in between those two that makes this a ray area. Because this is the problem. What happens if you had been, as you said, felt you were persuaded to do something while the other party was totally meaning to manipulate you and control you? And you, thinking of your own free will, thought you had made this decision and it benefited your life, but in actuality, you are being controlled. That's the scary thing to consider

And along the way, it came to light that, oops they had been manipulated. So I guess it depends on the approach, doesn't it? These people have been manipulated out of their life's savings. I remember that era. I think this happened, like, probably 1015 years ago. So, as the saying goes, caveat emptor, which means buyer beware with everything that we do. Right?

Commerce, capitalism, consumerism, the three C's they're all based upon constantly and consistently, almost from the time we get involved in society. So that would be schooling from manipulating us to believe that we are lacking something. So that we are forever on this quest and this search externally to find that one thing that's going to make us feel better, look better, be better, be accepted, be more loved. And it's all at the end of the day, emotional manipulation

@Daily_Alkhemy what would be your suggestions?

Daily Alchemy, thank you for not only taking the time to listen to this particular audio swell, but to also offer an audio response of your own. Yes, I painfully have come to the realization that I, as well as many others have and continue will too, will be manipulated

@FryedOreo

Learn about who you are as an energetic being. Learn how you create your own reality based upon how you think and how you feel. Learn about how so much of what you've created is actually a manifestation not of your true thoughts and feelings, but the thoughts and the feelings and the opinions and the beliefs and the mindsets that have been inherited from family, society, media, friendships

So I totally stand by those. And what a way to have your cherry popped, as it were, on this platform. And I think you'll enjoy it. There's a lot of interesting, thinking people out here that have varied perspectives, and I'm somewhere in between a lot of the perspectives as far as my own. Hopefully that Yan wasn't contagious if it was my apology. But thank you so much for adding to this conversation

Sisu is Finnish (see-su)

With me, I'm standing on those principles now. The moment that anything the other person is saying or doing contradicts or goes against my love, my value, my respect and my honor for myself, then I, at that point, cut that person off

But I don't really see meditation as having to. I see it almost as the opposite. We can escape our own thoughts, but that is another threat. So thank you again for your thoughtful question, your thoughtful responses. And, yes, I look forward to the expansion of this conversation and topic. Have a lovely day. Bye
