Clean that thang on out!

article image placeholderUploaded by @FryedOreo
And I used to think this was an indication that my phone was going bad, that I had to trade it in at some point due to the fact that I could hear it sounds very like muffled. It almost sounds if you're covering the microphone with your hand, but it's really the gunk that's covering it. So if you haven't done so yet and you are experiencing issues with your microphone's quality on your smartphone device, I would recommend you clean it out

How often do you clean your mic/speaker ports on your smartphone?

Careful with wet cleansers

I'd add one thing to your advice. Maybe a compressed air straw could help the process. I like the idea of the same removal tool because that's basically what I use to try to clean my ports. You're right. That thing in your pocket seems to get a lot of crud on it, but I'll never use wet microfiber to clean mine because it takes a day for the USB C Port to clear itself of all moisture by

Lite water usage. @topgold

I think I have the 1111 Promax, but anyhow. Yeah, I have to do this maneuver every other month because my phone is always in my pocket, and that is where the dust loves to propagate the dust and lint and the dirt. And it's interesting because I barely use my phone as a phone, but that doesn't really matter. It's not like your face is touching the mic Port anyhow, but anyway, thanks for responding. Thank you

@FryedOreo your advice--still a moist cloth or damp micro brush?

How can I clean the how would you recommend I use to clean the USB C charging Port when it gives me that crazy notification. I just use wireless charging for the device, but it would be handed to know if you have a better solution. Thanks Dwan and thanks for sharing

Use some sort of pointy object. The SIM tool remover is really good, but I've used even a safety pin at times and just kind of scrape at those corners. That's where a lot of that lint and dust is stored, and once you kind of clean that out, you start to see it fall out and there you go. But I think iphone has done better with that. I find myself not having to clean it out as often. It's more so with the microphone Port

Thank you. It worked !

Hey, day one. Thank you for this tip. I tried it out yesterday because the right speaker on my iphone hadn't been working for over a month now, and I hadn't tried this damp brush, damp tooth brush technique. So I tried it out after listening to you and also used a paintbrush with very thin bristles to clear out the wet particles. And it worked like a charm
