Memorization Kills.

I'm a bad father. Really, I am. I often struggle at times remembering my kids birthdays. I only know one by heart. The rest I have to check up on my Apple notes to see. And also I can struggle at times keeping up to date with what's going on with them in school. So this is bad father territory stuff, right. And society often will portray these sorts of attributes to bad memory. One who is very forgetful

⚖️

I'm up two minds about this, like the education system as we know it today was designed around memorization and regurgitation. And to me, that is not learning on the flip side. If we don't have some memory of things, it's harder to piece together larger ideas. If you don't have the ability to pull on some of those things, I think we have to look at what we mean by the word learning. What does it mean to learn in today's age?

Comprehension. @SeekingPlumb

So this is also a part of most school curriculums across the US of a where in turn, you study things to memorize, and therefore with this memorization of information, you are going to place it in the appropriate place to indicate to your instructors as well as the people who pay those instructors and fund the schools and those who fund the school systems that you can comprehend what it is that you are taking in

If you need a loan fully encompassing, amazing. And it's like the next level, how many eggs type of thing which I found very fascinating. And if you are at all curious and you punch in project based learning, you'll find a s*** ton of information online anyway. Yeah, it could probably spend ages talking about the current education versus what could be and how effective it is

Respect 🙏 @SeekingPlumb

That's a little too deep. But let's just say there were situations that made it harder for me in the educational system coming up where I didn't have any family member that graduated from College or let alone high school to kind of tutor me to some type of success. So it's kind of like you're just starting out on your own in a way. And even at that time, I was just naive to exactly what that level of education could bring

🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Thank you, sincerely.

I think that's one of the challenges right in reinventing an education system. It's making sure that in the middle of it all, you're also incorporating ways of reaching students where they're at, whether it's more general learning style, audio visual, kinetic, whatever, or someone like your son, these are important pieces to the puzzle, one I never know what to do when you say these positive things to me. It's flattering, it's overwhelming
