Can Swell and Podcast Coexist for your attention?

article image placeholderDuel of audio
So it's a lot different than, let's say Facebook or Twitter, where you're not going to be using your voice all that much unless if you make videos and have accompanying videos to go with your podcast. So for me, this is a place where I get a vacation from podcast buzz

Are Social Audio and Podcast the same or different for you?

@Wuandurful Swell constrains my listening

Smell is good for that, mainly because the platform here has a higher level of stability. People actually listen and comment back. It's the quality of the voice, the empathy, the emotive quality of who we are that comes through in the voice. Good question about whether podcasting and slow interfere with each other, though other days only so long and you have to cut your cloth to fit, don't you? Thanks for the swell cast. Bye now

Apart from competing for our time. Like you mentioned, Bernie, I think they can coexist for our attention because they're different forms of attention. Podcasting is more of a passive, consuming way. Listening to Squarecast or interacting with squarecast is hopefully more of an engaging experience. You're not just listening, but you are considering and possibly contributing to a conversation. But I do think where the conflict maybe is more emphasized is when the focus is podcasting, and then you come into this arena

Visible branding vs personal connection @SeekingPlumb

Excuse me if you heard me burp, but anyway, I found early on for myself that certain topics and certain attitudes and rhythms of flow worked better on certain platforms than others. So let's say, for instance, with Anchor, when I make it my podcast, I don't think the demographic is here for my podcast. To be honest with you, it would be interesting if someone did listen, but I don't think it's for the crowd of Swell because it's more performative

What has your experience been like @Joylove

Really, but I have started to get that itch and angle to work again with what I wanted to do. And I didn't realize until recently the stuff with Trump, I realized what it is that I do on social media for the longest time. I kind of quite didn't have the finger on it. Sometimes I felt like, Well, I'm a philosopher of sorts. I love to talk about philosophy, but I do to a certain extent, but it's too vague. Psychology
