My Month-long experience with Swell.
Let's talk about something that's a bit more not the app's fault directly, but maybe in terms of the culture they're trying to build and that's the topics. Sometimes it feels like people want to talk about different topics than what is the main topics that are featured on here. But it seems like more than not we're going to be talking about Trump for quite some time, so I guess that's more motivation from the user itself and what they can put out

So if you just go to the drop down menu, it's those three dots. When you look at your Swellcast and choose account, you'll see a link that says my notification preferences, and there it tells you you have low, medium or high, and it tells you all the kinds of notifications you receive based on that preference, because we know that it's different for everyone how many notifications they want to see. So that's currently just for the push notifications

You can't elect out of them completely. Once you're in the app, you're still going to get them regardless. So I remember hearing from people that they turned the notifications off from their phone setting. So I went into my phone, my iOS settings and turned off in the notifications area. Just turned everything off as well. But then I found I was still getting the issue within the app of Swell itself

Hey, Joanne, thanks for providing more context. I wouldn't have known that. So that's useful. So I guess I just want to clarify. You just want to be able to reply in conversations, but not here at any responses or be notified of any responses to any conversation. Unless someone explicitly Tags you with your username. Is that correct how I'm understanding it? And by notifications, I mean, not only the push notifications that you see, but also in app notifications

But I maneuver around the app on my own quite well, and I've looked through all the conversations, the latest ones. I've already seen them. So to get notified about stuff I've already seen, it can be a little annoying. So that's just the place I'm coming from with that. So hopefully that clarifies it better. So I think there should be more heavy emphasis on mentions versus just getting notified that someone has responded in a post that you have responded to as well

But if you opted out of all notifications within your phone settings, you shouldn't be receiving any push notifications from us. So that's really helpful to have that clarified and not. And I also just wanted to let you know that I'll make sure everything you said, our product team sees it, and they can consider it. So thanks
