Excellence is a Standard

article image placeholderUploaded by @EricG
Hi, guys. Eric here. Do you ever feel like the world around you is more accepting of less quality than it used to be? Does it seem like our world is more concerned with quantity than quality? You know, I saw it in an early age. To all always give you very best at all times. This stems from being in the Boy Scouts and serving in the military. So throughout my life, I've made it my mission to not just meet expectations, but to exceed them

Also inviting another military voice @WarPig73

If you look at young people who are looking at standards of excellence online, it's really scary because some of them are never going to be reachable. And there's a real dystopian sense of like, I'm never going to be good enough because those people are in an echelon of existence that I'll never reach. And then there comes that self loathing

@EricG: paradoxy of progress…

Hence this sort of self perpetuating system of creating more content, right? Go back to the quantitative and I'm with you. I'm an 80s baby and I was born and bred quality over quantity. I came from military background or military family, and my father definitely an academic by any standard. Five degrees, two undergrad, two masters, and a doctoral degree. I myself and pursue my doctoral degree right now

I don't know if my writing is excellent, but that is, of course, what I strive for. I think Excellency is a great goal, and even if you don't achieve it, it's a good thing to strive for. It's an important thing to strive for. And we're we don't see it a lot. So yeah, thanks for this post

It just like one day in the not too distant future someone's going to test war drive and prove they can be done. If athletes don't have a strong mindset and believe in themselves, we wouldn't have sports heroes. Muhammad Ali used to say I'm the greatest. Lots of people thought he was a jerk. He wasn't a jerk. He had a superior attitude and a strong mindset that he was the best, which is why he became a champion
