Binge watching vs wise entertainment consumption

article image placeholderUploaded by @dzakyem
Binge watching Netflix series, binge reading very large books perhaps since years ago and having no breaks in movies. Because when I was a child, 40 years ago or 50 at least they were uncacked. There were breaks in the middle of a movie. This was good to meet people, good to talk about the film, to share the suspense that could have been in the film and the understanding. And that was possibly difficult because it was at a peak moment of the film

@dzakyem I rather read a good book

Oh, yes, binge watching. I felt victim to that in the beginning when they started all the streaming services. And I loved that I could continue to watch and didn't not have to wait for another week for the next episode. And then I became very aware of it. And now lucky I have the discipline to take a break in time or to pause it and talk about it with my spouse

I don’t binge watch but I understand the attraction

Hey Zak, I do not binge watch shows. I will watch a series that has 40 or 50 hours of content, but it will take me months, if not years, to get through it. I will watch one episode at a time, even if all the episodes are available right now. I like to draw out the experience. I like to take time to appreciate the story

Thanks!!! 1) Game addiction 2) Series watched in small bits... Photo: Apple tree photo taken today!....

I understand your point that there is so much effort put into any kind of films. On the other hand, I wonder sometimes if actors are paid as much the actors who play in series nowadays it is bandwagon production, isn't it? And then, yes, on series made to be digested quickly because there is possibly less, except for the story to support the interest of the film. But I may be wrong there
