How did you get into motorcycling?

But man, after that ride, I was like, I got to give me one of these, and I ended up saving my dough. And I spent $600 on an old motorcycle. And I didn't tell my parents I was living at home at the time, and I had to break it to him like, hey, I just totally irresponsibly spent $600 on a motorcycle, and it was great. It's been a lifelong passion

Was there a specific moment when you got hooked into motorcycling?

It had a big, thick back tire. And I was probably, I don't know, seven or eight years old. And that was my police motorcycle. It even had a flag, so it looked like an antenna on the back. And as I grew up, I was fascinated and infatuated with motorcycles. I wasn't allowed to have one as I got into my teens. But my friend was and my friend Lance had a Kawasaki vaulting

#dirtbikes How many peoples parents wouldn't let them get a motorcycle?

But then after I turned 40, I made the decision that I don't think I need my mother's permission to get a dirt bike anymore, and it just kind of hit me. I can probably get one. And so I did. I bought an XR 250, Honda, an older dirt bike

My journey began when my brother had a 500 twin pot Beamer in the Seventies. I was probably eight years old and he put on that little half helmet on me with those goggles over the eyes and says, We're going to Grandmas. And in Sweden, of course, there's always going over a mountain involved. And I was just holding on and felt the first time, I guess real adrenaline and been seeking it ever since and then got my 1st 50 CC Moped at 14

It was a few years between like and love

I got into motorcycle riding because the guy I was dating in College had a motorcycle and wanted to teach me how to ride it. So that was super fun. But I didn't really fall in love with motorcycles until my husband, who, Incidentally, was the guy I was dating in College, went to buy a new motorcycle and realized his license had expired. So I bought it and we got a Kawasaki Ninja 636, and I driveJ it home, and it was so easy to ride

But I did graduate to a dirt bike and rode that around quite a bit. And then as a young adult, I was probably 19 or 20, and I decided I ought to get a road bike. So one day on my lunch hour, I just went to the motorcycle shop nearby and asked to test drive a bike. They put me on a 650, and I left the parking lot knowing exactly how to ride the bike

#help Is this the sound of a carb in need of cleaning?

So as you can tell, I'm giving it a lot of gas. I'm going on the throttle very quickly and very hard. So I'm giving it a lot of gas all at once and doing it very quickly, and it almost sounds like it's about to stall when I do that. And when I just gradually give it gas with the throttle, it does fine. So curious is that the carburetor. Is there anything?

I hear bogging

But probably if it's been sitting around a while, you're going to have to take the carburetor off and you're going to have to clean everything out. It's just a guess, especially if you have ethanol fuel in there. So just my thought

All credit goes to my big bro! #motorcycles

It was always a big deal to see our big brother, Jason and Nikki and Jason one day picked me up on that $600 motorcycle, and that was the day that I both fell in love with motorcycles and got my first tattoo because my calf went directly into the exhaust and I had a strawberry on that thing for the rest of the summer. So it was trial by burn. But I loved it. I thought Jason was just the coolest dude

My father went on to work for Kawasaki, and I had KX 80 and a KX 125, and I had all kinds of dirt bikes. And I got into motocross, and I raced motocross all the time for about ten years. And I broke something, like 14 different bones on my dirt bike

And I'm just going to take the motorcycle out to the Delaware Water Gap and ride around and contemplate a better future. So here's the riding. Thank you all for posting

Found freedom and escaping

Well, I'm definitely enjoying the different responses. How did I get into motorcycling somewhere around age six or seven is when I learned to ride a two wheel bicycle. I was definitely definitely the last one in the neighborhood, slow to learn, and then immediately discover the freedom that it brought. So anything on two wheels became of interest to me. My brother and I found some mini bike. I think they were from Sears in a garbage with no Motors

Oh I started with the motorcycles after a heartbreak so I did many things because in my search of love I read: "do what you love and love will find U"

But anyway, that's my story and I love talking about motorcycles. So if you have anything else, like let me know if you talk about motorcycles or if you open another conversation about it. Something that I forgot to say is that one of the main reasons why I started to do all the things that I wanted to do is because I read something on Instagram that was saying that you should do what you love and love will find you. So hoping that love will find me
