Today’s music moving forward

I'm kind of, well, disappointed in the music that's out there today. Typically the top charts, the top hits from the top artists. To me, things sound more like nursery rhymes lately and all the pop that's very sexualized and mostly about partying and I don't know, getting late or whatever. And yeah, it's fun for maybe like a fun time in my point of view, like for a party or a club or something, or a bar

My awful take

Deviated at one point to cater to females and now you got all these weird sounding pop piano uplifting music and it's like a big drum bunch and it sounds like it belongs more in like a Lion King or something like that than it does like an album or something. And power to them, bless their soul. But that's what I think has been going on with the music industry, that as most things, men don't really matter

All right, we need something two minutes and 45 seconds long with female vocals and 160 beats per minute. Like, really? It's not musicianship, it's a different skill set. I wonder if that's the case that the spotify algorithm and the way people are listening to music now is changing the industry of producing music for the top streaming charts. Number three, I was just going to say, I think Billboard still has a jazz chart, but jazz has left the mainstream pop influence decades ago

Music progression through the years

But overall, I think that pop music is going to be pop music, and people are going to find more serious music that has a lot more to give on their own merits. And there is a lot of stuff coming up that's been very I've been optimistic about. There's a lot of cool music, a lot of different genres and blending that are coming out. So I think there's no need to be negative
